04 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7.... Good buy ?

First off .I know its not great on Gas But i want something that can tow anything and has no problem going offroad.
I only drive 4 km to the Go train so it wont kill me on gas. Mostly used for weekend trips up north.
Anyone that has one chime on on what to watch out for ??

Jeeps are awesome 04 was a good year, you can tow up to around 6500#s make sure it has the tow package(hitch, HD rad/tranny programming). It depends what you mean by off road, stock it will do well and take you more places then a car ever would but you still need to watch it.

I have a Jeep and plan to eventually get another Jeep to replace my 05 camry.

The 4.7 is thirsty just as much as the hemi so expect 11-16mpg.

There's at least three different 4x4 options on this gen GC, I believe... Quadra-Drive and Quadra-Trac I and II. I'm not sure if there were others...

The best/most advanced/most off-road-capable of them is Quadra-Drive so if off-roading is of importance I would try to find one with that configuration if you can. I'm not sure about the price premium over the Quadra-Trac models, but it will cost more.

Quadra Trac II lacks the locking front and rear diffs of Quadra Drive and Quadra Trac I further lacks Neutral and Low range modes.

+1...The 4.7l is an solid old proven design, ideal for a truck...lots of power and reliable...but surprisingly bad on gas...as bad or worse than bigger Hemi's.
I have one in my Durango...208,000kms and going strong.
