I apologize if this question has already been asked, but if I have a citibank card with 0% interest until May, could my wife apply for the newest deal with 0% interest until Nov/08 and do a balance transfer?

Thanks

I don't seee why not; in fact my wife did just that and is waiting for the approval.

Question, if we pay the minimum payment, it simply reduce the amount of principal that we owe correct?

So say $10,000 initially, with 3% min payment, the next statement, I should owe CITI $10,000 - $300 = $9700

Yes. But you have to make sure all your balance is from BT but not purchase or cash advance.

Yes, to apply they gave me no problems.
However, when I called to activate and asked to confirm the 0%, they told me that i don't have the 0% rate. They offered me 0.99% (or could've been 1.99%)for 8 months or to fax a proof that I had the 0% offer in hand.

So, anyone willing to post a PDF of the original offer so we can all fax it in?

First I thank everyone for all their effort in finding people the best rates around. Thank You

So after all this I applied for a citi card and got one with a BT of .09%.
So I phoned and asked if I can get that reduced to 0% using the information provided in the above threads and there answer was FORGET IT. "you applied for this card and that's what you get"
Has anyone ever got there rates changed ever.
I still don't have my card yet as they just approved me.

Thanks in advance.

When I applied for the CITI bank mastercard, I asked for a $5000 Balance Transfer to my chequing account. Today, I got my card in the mail and I was approved for $8000 at 0% til November 2008. THANK YOU RFD!!!!

Just want to ask you guys a question: since the MBNA card offers for 15 months 0% so it's better than the CITI one, why do a lot of people still apply for the CITI one not the MBNA one? Or do they apply both?

Can't apply online?

I figured it probably has something to do with Windows Vista, seems to be ok with XP. Were you using Vista when you applied?

Citi also has a fee (1.5%), for transfer cheques/balance transfer if you read their terms. However, it does have a qualifier on it that says "unless waived".

the citibank site is just cranky. if it doesn't work, try it again later. people have been reporting problems with it for years.

citibank transfers for 0% don't have a fee.

Thanks. I just tried on a Windows XP machine and it worked no problem. The online application was really quick and easy. They seem don't ask you a lot of questions.
