[Rona] $10 off LED light bulbs at RONA [QC Only]

Rona has an in-store coupon for $10 off certain Globe and Sylvania Energy Star LED bulbs. I found the coupon pad attached to the shelf with the bulbs. You can use it for up to 5 x $10 = $50 off!!! Naturally, I stocked up on bulbs that were originally $10.99, not the silly $48 bulbs! :D

Promo is running from March 1st to April 30th. Apparently it is sponsored by Rona and Hydro Quebec. They ask for ID to prove that you are a Quebec resident.

Does that mean that you paid .99 for a $10.99 bulb?

Almost but not quite. If you read the fine print it says "Rabais applicable après les taxes." So the taxes were calculated first, then the cashier took $10 off for each bulb.

So I guess that the total per bulb was $2.64 tax in.

But isn't that all part of our national identity?! J/K

Thanks OP, I'll go check my local Rona to see what's available.

Apparently, this same offer should also be available at other Quebec retailers over the next 2 months, including Home Depot, Home Hardware, and Costco.

And for retailers that are not participating in the instant rebate (ex. Cdn Tire, Union Electric, etc.), there's an MIR option (see linked PDF). At up to 5 x $10 = $50, it's actually worth the stamp.

There's no coupon to print, does that mean those retailers automatically have all their LED bulbs discounted?

Yes, I bought a few of these. They work perfectly in a bedside table lamp that my wife likes to leave on from dusk to bedtime.

They are not at all suitable to replace a 13w cfl (60w incandescent) bulb though. They are just 120 lumens.

I only know for sure about Rona. They had the pad of coupons attached to the shelf with a zip tie.
