10 year China visa and passport running out of pages

Hi, I have a 10 year China visa that expires in 2025, and my passport expires in 2026. The problem is my passport has only 3 pages left and I am renewing it in a month from now.

How does this affect my China visa? Do I have to reapply or can I carry 2 passports with me?

I believe the visa is tied to the existing passport number and as the current passport will be retired, a new number will be issued so you will probably at the very least try to get the visa transferred - if they do that sort of thing. Your best bet would be to contact the visa centre and ask them about their process.

I dunno about China, but in Thailand they transfer the visa to a new passport. Since Thailand copies everything from China I believe it's the same in China :)

Call the embassy/consulate and report back with your findings for others to know.

From some Chinese travel infomation websites (not The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Canada), they said you can bring your old and new passport.

Pretty sure you would just have to carry 2 passports

you should be fine by carrying your old and new passport.

Yes, you have to take your old and new passport, and use both when entering China.

I have the China visa as well and researched the same thing. (Fortunately my passport is good for a long time yet.)
What if there were no hypothetical questions?

Many countries allow this. But with China I am not sure. You dont know what they will do after arriving.
You guys seem trapped by the confines of your own ideologies.
