How does it compare to the Danby model 11000 at the same price in Costco?

I would get it at Costco...if there is anything wrong with it, Costco will just take it back no problems...Rona on the other hand will give you a bunch of problems.

last time I went shopping for a portable ac, was on sale at Rona, incredible deal, went the day the sale started, sold out, supposedly they had 1 in the store... I wouldn't press your luck in finding one of these.

I did however find a better(danby vs uberhaus) at RCSS for $75 cheaper AND RCSS had a promo spend $200 or more get a free coleman cooler($50).

This. I just bought the Costco one yesterday before I saw the Rona flyer. In the end, the loss of the 1,000 BTU is worth the Costco return policy.

I bought the Danby one from Costco and I had another Delonghi portable from Costco too, about 3 years ago for $550 tax in. Danby easily beats Delonghi, quieter, cooler and more efficient. It has two venting pipes, one in and one out. Pipes are longer and easier to adapt to sliding doors or windows.

But I never believe in so-called BTU and the claimed area coverage. Portables are never good in terms of efficiency compared to window units, if they say it cover 550 sq ft, I would say the best it can do is 300. At least that is the case for me.

Costco return policy is super. Not sure about the one from Rona in terms of efficiency, reliabiltiy etc.

Bought the Costco one as well but haven't needed (or had the time) to unpack it yet. The extra 1,000 BTUs doesn't bother me as I'm fairly confident the Danby brand is better than UberHaus (don't let the Germanic name fool you, it's China baby) and I have much more confidence in Costco helping me out with an easy return should I need it. Plus, I believe the box on the Danby claimed a 2 year warranty (not sure what UberHaus is, but assuming 1 year).

Is there an exhaust hose management? Or does it just stick out the back?
Also does this thing have option to bring in fresh air? Or does it just cycle room air?

Parents bought two of these last year... they work great and are really nice! Well worth the $300 IMO.

Since it's been mentioned a few times, anyone care to state the price of the Costco unit?

The Danby at Costco is $399.99... Anyone know if they tend to ever go on rebate during the upcoming months?
