Yeah my mistake, added 9 for some reason.

Nice find btw, good luck getting it, that's an amazing price.

Good deal... why do they allow you to place backorders for clearance items, I bet they charge you straight away too. I don't need it, none of my PCs have less than the maximum amount of memory that they will support already but hopefully someone gets a pair that needs it.

I really need it to be able to have enough VMs to study my certifications :( I tried ordering but doubtful that I get it since it already says backorder

what kind of certification are you preparing.. i need to run VMs as well ... want to build a machine.. is 16gb enough for running 3-4 VMs ... would be helpful if i can get some tips on building a decent machine without burning my pocket

I paid 138 bucks for Corsair Vengeance 4x8GB one year ago (and then sold a 4x4GB kit for $160 on CL that got replaced)... but I got lucky on that one. This deal is pretty close to that and it's not complete noname stuff either. But it doesn't matter there is no stock... I feel like this will not be that abnormal of a price soon for the remainder of DDR3's common life.

Damn for that kind of price I would have bought 4 of them.
Let's see Chrome use up 64GB

Depends on the operating system in the vm, and the contents. You can practically create infinity Arch Linux CLI only machines in 16gb.
