The thing is not only the tire diameter or circumference but whether or not the wheel will house the brake rotor and calipers without interference.

185/65 R14 tires and rims on a 185/65 R15 car is doable?
I have an Acura, the spec on the side door say that the tire should be: 185/65 R15.
My friend has a set of 185/65R14 winter tires and rims. Do you know if there's any problem if I use that set on my Acura?

Exactly. You need to check the offset of the wheel and obvious things like number of lugs.

If the bolt pattern is the same, the tire diameter may be different, but more importantly, the 14" rims may not clear the brake calipers. Originally Posted by testinz

Those tires will run perfectly fine on your Integra, I ran them when I used to have one as well. If you search Honda forums you'll see lots of others have run them as well and their the preferred ones for 14's in winter.

It is very common recommendation for winter tires to go one size smaller in the rim, and select a slimer (narrower) tire
I don't see any problems with what you propose, one size smaller in the rim shoudn't affect your winter driving (as long as lugs and offset of the rim is the same)
