4 of my buddies switched from them as well. They are slowly becoming the Bell we hate so much. Prices are going up and customer service is going down.
From what another poster posted earlier, they don't even follow their own policies!! They give you a modem for $50 and say you can return it but then 2 years later just point at the current policy that states that modem fees are not refundable.

Hahaha, it would be funny if she jumps ship ... to Teksavvy...Nah, I hope not.

I'm still with Acanac, too lazy to make a change as it has been running fine. But, I do agree, eventually Teksavvy is going to take over Acanac's market as they really don't have any competitive advantage any more, and offers less service than Teksavvy e.g. no Landline, cable internet, weekend customer service, etc.

For those trying to reach Acanac, why not just call their 800 number? I have no idea whether Imelda is around or not (simple enough to find out if you wanted to - again, just call the toll free number and ask!!). She has one mailbox on the site and if it is full for one thread then it is full for all - so everyone mentioning things is simply telling the same story.
Acanac does have some competitive advantages over Teksavvy - MLPPP, Online PC, Their VPN for torrent downloading, fixed rate dry loop and they do offer phone service, just not wired (my prime line will not be VOIP for a very long time for a whole bunch of reasons I've already written about here)..
And if you live in Montreal (and probably almost anywhere else outside of Toronto), there is no cable service available from them either.
I have had no issues aside from a couple of down times that can be attributed to Acanac. And if I've had issues and could e-mail them there's weekend support as well.

I guess you never tried to cancel your service yet. I opened ticket on Oct 3, and still get no meaningful response yet. Bibi. D from their retention department just cut and paste standard answers to the ticket and close it. These answers has nothing to do with my request and numerous replies.
By the way, their billing and retention department is NOT reachable by phone. Email only.
I guess the only way you can get quick cancellation is to cancel your credit card BEFORE renew day.

Does anybody have experience with zid dot com?
My internet service with acanac is due to renewal, and I am looking for an alternative for similar service in GTA.
Thank you

- 12 month contract that you pay up front <$228 for the year
- 30 day money back policy if you don't like their services
- <$34 (taxes in) a month after the one year deal is done
- Unlimited downloads, No Capping

Don't know the expiry on this deal (NOTE: Looks like it ends January 31). So hurry up and get it. Worst case utilize their 30 day money back policy. Promo only available in Ontario and Quebec.
Here's a review of their services (79% approval rating);

Thanks.
BTW, I've had Acanac since Sunday and have had no disconnections and a smooth 5mb service so far. I was with TekSavvy prior and would disconnect at least once a day. We have 3 computers, 2 of them were running WoW without lagging and the other one ran smoothly as well. Best Internet I've ever had.
seems good, but is it genuine or do i have to read the fineprint ?!
