How difficult can the game be ?
I was wondering how difficult can the game be / get ? I am looking up videos now on the game and just wondered if it is at all challenging as of course the target market is kids.
Note to the manufacturer btw ....
You should have made the figures able to be pulled from the base to play so kids can mash n smash them for fun and then put them back on the appropriate character stand to play the video game again. All you would have had to do is put the name of the figure on the base and on the bottom of the character. Simple.

Certain Skylanders may be in stock ... but good luck finding one's like Ignitor, or any of the ultra rare silver plated one's. Even recently released one's like Wrecking Ball, Hex and Dino-Rang are hard to find ...

It seems like most stores are getting re-stocked this week. I feel like this whole situation is an artificial supply/demand.

Jan 7th, 2012 08:47 PM #36Source: http://www.wired.com/geekdad/2011/10...ters-revealed/While you can complete the game with the three you get in the starter box, there are another 29 to choose from that not only unlock new areas but offer unique attacks and power ups.
MSRP for a single figure is $7.99 however, some are more expensive. Like this one for $41.99. This game would cost way more than $70, if you plan to fully complete the game. If you want more prices click here.

Time for the kids in this generation learn to trade their Skylanders as if they were hockey or baseball cards. I wonder if for example, if one person finish a certain section (one character), then lend it to a friend. Then borrow another character in order to access other sections. Like trading the characters to get more access to the game. But then again, I think the parents in this generation are just ballers, and will buy anything for their kids and spoil them rotten.
I think Activision is a such a scammer like the others in the industry. Make a game, sell 1/2 of it on the initial launch for full price (59.99) then call the other 1/2 a DLC (29.99) in order to get people to pay more for the full game. The companies will make 90 bucks instead of 60 bucks for a full game.

You can't trade them for in game... each individual figure has their unique code (Web 10 digit Card codes) inside of the package which you have to active in the game. Once the code is used it is bind to the account/system.
I see this Skylander as Western Pokemon. Catch/collect them all.

My original intention in starting this thread is for people to post deals and spottings of Skylanders in their local stores. What I am seeing instead are people that are either haters or non-believers of Skylanders or maybe haters of children's interests in general. Then you have the people posting on this thread that are trying to educate themselves about Skylanders or providing their own opinion, which I don't think anyone really cares about nor appreciates the ignorance, especially in this GOOGLE world. When did being OLD and out of touch with the latest trends become admirable/funny? It's not cute anymore to proclaim how much of a Dinosaur you are if you haven't heard of Skylanders, or just too damm lazy to Google it before making yourself look like a fool and posting on this thread showing your ignorance. Then there are those people posting here that don't have any young children in their lives, to become remotely interested in what Skylanders is all about. That is another sad story. Grow up and have babies, or tell your existing babies to make you grand babies so you have an excuse to buy a Skylander and provide value added intel to this thread.
Can we please try to stick with the intent of this forum?
If you would like to start a Skylanders Haters thread or Skylanders FAQ thread, please go ahead, but refrain from cluttering this thread with non-actionable intel. What is actually helpful as well, is reporting to this thread when you have visited a specific store or online retailer that has Out of Stock, so that other Skylander enthusiasts can save time and look elsewhere.
Here is some more value added Intel:
To learn more about Skylanders product line so you make wise purchase decisions go to this nice blog:
http://skylandersblog.com
It is important to learn about how this toy comes in specific groupings within packages, so that you do not make purchasing mistakes on e-bay, kijiji or craigslist when going black market. For example, people paying 1000% for a specific character like Stealth Elf would have made better decisions if they knew Stealth Elf comes with the Nintendo DS starter pack.
Also, my prediction is that the female characters will be in HIGH demand, as there are many little girls and big girls that are starting to really make a dent in the gaming scene, and would of course be drawn to female characters. Expect these female characters to be the hardest to find.
By the way, it is absolutely NOT the kids or teens that are buying these products, but instead the Alpha dads and moms who are in the 100K+ tax bracket who will do anything for their offspring. So money is not an object, especially if the thought of spending MORE after buying the original video game was not a deterrent. So please save your "poor man" comments for another thread, no one cares that you were one of the loser protesters at the G20 or an "occupier", or that you live under a rock and are surprised that companies are trying to be profitable.

Everywhere I go, skylander shelf are always empty during/after Christmas time. Chatted with CSR today, he told me new shipment should be coming next week. Some came in during this week but was quickly sold out.
My kids are about 10 more skylanders away from completing the collection, not counting the silver one which I have never seem including lots of stores in US.
Good thing I got both exclusive figures during the released month. It's almost impossible to find now....
