2 way radios - need feedback

I am interested in buying a set of 2 way radios... my main concern is that the range is good and that they aren't too big....and that the batteries don't die too quickly....need some feedback from people that have them...

Motorola - I think is considered one of the best ones

Cobra - cheaper, but not as good as Motorolas (not as reliable, sometimes breaks, not as clear)


Range - just pay attention to the numbers on the package "18 km" or "28 km". The longer the range, the bigger the unit has to be.

I have the small Cobra's. Uses AAA batteries. They work okay at home use, for fun. But when driving between 2 cars, it was not working well at all. When we went camping, used my friend's Moto's and they worked great.
