2008 Lancer DE or 2009 Corolla S?
Price wise, Lancer DE with ABS/Air condition package is about $2000 less than 09 Corolla S. according to the websites anyway.
can someone give me some opinions of pros and cons of each?_______________

Bought an 09 Corolla XRS and should have it in 2 weeks...
I think what you might wanna do is to test drive both cars and see which one feels better.
If I'm not mistaken, the resell value of a Toyota is often higher than Mitsubishi.

I feel the Lancer's interior was a bit out dated.
BTW, DJ Trance AZ, how much is your new corolla xRS?

you're not mistaken, since the Toyota would cost around 2000 more. I'd hope to get at least 500 bucks more back when i go to sell.
Personally I'd go with the lancer. I've test driven it and it was quite fun to drive, not as good as a Mazda 3 but it's good enough. The interior is also pretty nice and the options you get for the price are pretty good too. I've been in a corolla and checked out the interior and i was really disappointed. haven't even bothered to test drive it after that. I'm not a big fan of the way it looks either.
now that's my personal opinion so feel free to ignore it, don't bother flaming me.

it's worth the extra $2,000 for a Corolla because for it's reliability. The stock corolla is not as sporty as the stock Lancer but .... for the corolla you can soup up the engine to the specification you want and might be as good as the lancer ...
I thought the new '09 Corolla looks like a mini me of a Camry. I have seen and sat inside a '09 Corolla at the stealership and I thought it was pretty good compare to the '08 with more room

If i were you, i would pony up more money for the Lancer LE model looks much nicer and better equipped. Corolla on the other hand, shrunken version of the Camery is not my taste lol, i always thought of corolla as a poor families car lol. I would never touch corollas ever, i would rather pony up for a Matrix if i had too. Or even a civic haha.
Hope didn't offend anybody that here, but thats what corolla are, there image is not very good.
The only corolla i respect is the AE86. Now that was a classic.
