2009 RAV4: Price above invoice?
I'm planning to get the 2009 Toyota RAV4 that recently just came out and got the invoice price from APA. They also provide a reference to a place which will sell the car for Invoice + $1000. Knowing this, I just wanted to know what are the chances I could get other dealerships to budge and go lower say Invoice + $500 or is that wishful thinking since the model just came out? What would be a realistic value?
First time buyer as well, could I also try to lower the price of options like hood deflector, side step bars, etc as part of the deal?

Do you really need an answer to your question ?
Ok, you already have a paper from the APA stating that a dealer will do Invoice + 1000$. Here is what you have to do.
Go to another dealer, don't lose their time.. in other word, go straith to the point.
I want, this model, in this color, with these options, with this APA paper, the other dealer is doing it for Invoice + 1000$. If you can do it for Invoice + 500 or 600 or whatever, I sign right now.
I am pretty sure the dealer will say ok! Otherwise he is losing 500$.
That's what I did for my escape and was able to get a very good price.
But again, be firm, and don't lose their time. They wont make much money of you, so don't start asking about 2 millions questions and then try to negotiate a good price.
Go straith to the point.
Let us know how it went!

i got my 08 rav for invoice plus $700. i kept my apa slip in my back pocket, ready to use if needed. just be confident with your numbers, and tell them you can already get it at a certain price at another dealer.
