ugh...i hate these fake trailers...
they usually differ alot from the final product.
while "when heaven burns" is a surprisingly good show, i still wonder what it would've been if Nick Cheung starred in it. Pisses me off when it's obvious that TVB has been shelving it for 2 years and snubbing it while it is getting critical acclaim._______________

Well, if you watched the original 2009 teaser trailer, there were no mentions of them being rockers. However, the cannibalism is still there.
The problem with TVB dramas nowadays is that they are catering more for the typical Hong Kong housewives because they always have their TV's switched on. More viewership brings them higher ratings and TVB being the giant conglomerate they are, needs those high ratings to gain revenue. Sadly, this also means that quality shows like "When Heaven Burns" come as rare as they are since these more developed shows require these housewives to think. And when that happens, they complain and prefer to keep their TVs off. And most of the viewership for "When Heaven Burns" is coming from the younger crowd who are either downloading it or watching it on TVB's official streaming site, mytv. Hence, the low ratings and TVB's constant snubbing of "When Heaven Burns".
And is it just me or is the acting of the late actor Chen Hong-Lieh sadly missed here? He was perfect in his role for "When Heaven Burns"._______________

Has the pacing to "When Heaven Burns" picked up? I watched the first 5 episodes and it was kind of uneventful.

I agree with the tentative trailers part. I didn't watch much of BTROC but I felt the proposed trailer was a lot more compelling overall. Didn't watch "When Heaven Burns" but from the official poster it looked interesting. I too would like to wonder how things would work if Nick Cheung accepted the offer. I might give it a shot during the holidays.
I always preferred the darker current dramas over the exaggerated Moonlight Resonance/Heart of Greed. The housewives' complaints are quite silly as TVB's dark themes are not portrayed graphically as in HK movies.
Haven't watched the trailers yet but I never watched the original Triumph in the Skies. I've been told to watch it first so I would do that.

Nick Cheung had to pull out because of scheduling conflicts from what I've heard. TITS1 was a pretty decent show but it's been years since I've seen it. There are talks that Francis Ng will appear for TITS2 for a cameo but Francis Ng is heavily implying that it'll be more than that.
