If the ST is $30k base, not sure if a RS will sell at a higher price. Though people are buying Golf R's so it could work...

Nice. Why are Canadians being hosed?
In the US, this starts at $24,495? Seems like this this segment consisting of WRX, Ralliart, MS3, GTI are all offered in the $29-30k when they are $23-25k in the US. I guess it doesn't help that the USDCAD exchange rate is at 1.05/1.06 now.

I too find that newer cars have huge foot rests on the left side, pushing the clutch further and further into the middle. For better or for worse, I don't know, I rarely drive stick.
As for the Volt, I commute to Mississauga nowadays, so my drive is 110 km, I've gotten almost 80 km from a charge, but the rest is filled in from the gas generator, so its solidifying my 1.2 L/100km. Trying to get it back down to under 1 L/100km but it doesn't seem likely at this point in time. I could drive on streets to Sauga' but the highway, even with traffic, is much faster.
Nope, Ford put more pedals with your pedals so you can heel-toe with both feet hehehe

Nice to know you are paying almost nil for gas.
Some people have no use for the footrest. I don't see any in the images posted on Post #1. I guess this is one more thing to consider if I were to buy another manual transmission car -- the ergonomics of the clutch pedal (placement, height, etc.). Some Americans have complained about that of the Mustang's:
