I don't quite trust the S3 yet. The S4, I fully trusted because I had a few close calls in it and it didn't fail me. In a straight line, the S3 is great, but when taking turns quickly, I am always worried about understeer.

As for the 7-speed, I had the 7-speed DSG on the S4 and it was so-so. Good for gas mileage but realistically, the 7th gear is useless unless on highway and the software on that DSG kept gear hunting between 1 and 2 on low speed and the shifts were extremely jerky (especially between 1st and 2nd). The S3's 6-speed DSG will stay in 2nd gear (in manual mode) at low speed and will only go down to 1st if you come to a stop. The S4 7-speed DSG will downshift (even in manual mode) from 2nd to 1st if you are going below ~15KM/hr.
The 8V S3 handles way better than the B8+ S4/5. Those things are boats. So heavy in the front, so much more understeer and less balanced than the 8V.

Yup, they weight I think 3-400lbs more? In the dry I absolutely love the S3 and would trust it more so than the S4 but in snowy conditions I still love and fully enjoy the Torsen vs Haldex. As for gas mileage I'm averaging just over 6.5L/100km on highway driving which is fantastic.

Anyone know with the current finance rates are? Last I read on here, it was 5.9%. Nice car, but that's an insane rate compared to the 2.9 at Subaru for an STI or 2.9-3.9 from Audi.

Last checked, 48m/60m financing is 4.99% and lease 48m is at 5.99%. I just shook my head.

Golf R - 36 months lease residual is about 61%. If this was at somewhere around low 50% along with interest rate at 5.9%, then simply it's a big rip off.

Yeah. I'm paying an insane 5.49% interest rate on my lease right now. But so well worth it, at least to me.

After this is done though, no more sports cars for me. Need a cheap diesel car to run to the ground.
