The CRA wants me to send them my T4s for claiming EI overpayment. It is weird. Is it because my employer didn't send my T4s to the CRA yet?

Ski instructor on T4. Can I claim first aid and CPR course fees? If so, under what should I claim?
Those courses were required by the company. Thanks

EI is handled by Service Canada, not CRA. You usually need a ROE(Record of Employment) from your employer to apply EI.

Sorry I meant EI premium overpayment. Quite weird because they have my T4 on their file on the CRA site already.

Maybe they didn't have it at the time your return was assessed? If it is available online, then you just need to print it off and send it back with the request I guess. Or call them and ask. Do you have multiple T4 slips? Weird that you would have an overpayment from one job unless payroll messed up something.

Thanks. I re-submitted the T4 slips online. It was just totally weird to me that they had all the infos, but what you said was perhaps what exactly happened (they didn't process my all my T4s yet).

I have overpayment because I hold 2 jobs at the same time and my HR said their payroll software can't handle my situation.

I had 2 jobs in 2016 and hit max before starting a 3rd. From what I understand each employer is required to deduct EI and CPP regardless of having paid max contribution at a previous or current employer.

What is the question?

Since your employers don't know what you make at the other employers, they can't decide what should be deducted.

My third employer knew I hit max based on a pay stub. They advised they still had to deduct. I believe they were correct.

Is it part of school curiculum? If so, then no.
If it is an extra course that meets the criteria such as 8 consecutive weeks, then yes, languages qualify.

Please don't take it personally, but this is a discussion forum. People sometimes feel the need to just share their experiences which, more often that not, benefit someone. So not all interventions in is forum need to be limited to a question/answer format.

I cannot quote prior posts on my phone. To the person asking what my question was I was responding to the EI overpayment in the post above my example.
