Went into a couple of dealerships today to ask about electric and none of them were willing to do the rebate for me.

I guess I'll have to try Vishu.
My experience has been that if you're trading in a car, then they prefer you claim the rebate on your own. Either way is fine... a bit more paperwork to file the claim yourself.

I'm doing a new lease, no trade-in.

Would much rather they do the paperwork for me. It'll make life easier.

From MTO's website, if you want to claime the rebate, you'll have to get the car registered first, which means you can only get the rebate after getting the car?

Has anybody been able to beat the $70 biweekly with $2,667 down for 3 years/20,000km number?

My details: 20k, leather, $750 AutoShow, Costco, First time buyers
$1160 on pickup, $85 biweekly (rounded values).

Not sure if my price wins any medals but the deal was painless and fair. Rep was mentioned multiple times before and I definitely recommend; located on the East side of the GTA.
Did you put any money down? Also, how is it only 1160 upon pickup? I thought the pickup payment needed to cover the tax on any downpayment. They consider the 14k (incentive) and 500 (costco rebate) and perhaps auto show discount as downpayment, alongside any actual downpayment you put or ford puts. Also included in pickup payment is first lease payment.

My deal is 3 years, 24k km, leather, costco, first time buyers.
500 down + 2632 on pickup + 85.52 biweekly for 77 payments (1st payment is upon pickup) = $9,717

Lease Option to purchase price:
10,924 plus tax = $12,344

Total - $9,717 + $12,344 = $22,061 **EDIT** looks like the 500 down is included in the 2632 upon pickup, so total is $21,561

Correct.
Which means will have to come up with $14k when picking up the car then claim the rebate?

Hey, I believe the $2632 due at delivery already included ur $500 down payment. So your total is 85 x 77 + $2632.

Yup.

You can begin to fill out as much of the application as possible ahead of time and have it ready to send in as soon as you get the car.

Half the price and almost half the amperage. Honestly, if all you want/need is 16A then go for it. But a full charge on a 30+kWh battery could take 10+ hours.
What is the max charge speed on the Focus? The volt is capped at 3.6kW so a lot of people are fine with a 16 amp unit.

If the Focus does 7.2kw, then the 30A is minimum. I would also get 14-50 r 6-50 plug put in with at least a 40A breaker. This will make you Tesla ready one day.

You don't need to put any money down besides the first payment and other fees.
Can you explain how the rebate works then assume dealer doesn't do the application for you?

Exactly. If the dealer doesn't want to claim the rebate on your behalf, then you fill out and submit the claim yourself.
Exactly what? The MTO website says you need the car to be registered and plated before you can apply for the rebate. Can you explain how the rebate process works? Like when will the car be registered and plated, when you can apply for rebate, when you can get it and give to dealer?
