Costco is a rip-off. Every time I've looked it has been quite a bit cheaper at local tire shops for identical tires.
I've found it comparable. Kal tire and 1010 were pretty much the same. The good thing about Costco is the rebate is instant. Mail in rebates are a huge PIA that should be banned. I swear companies just deny you to see if they can get away with it. You have to resend everything and suddenly they approve you.

Does anyone know if costco sends out confirmation emails for appt bookings? Just realized the csr never gave me an appt card or anything when I booked my winter tires swap appt in beginning of november...

Yes for?
Sorry, it's the same price online and in store. If you went into the warehouse to purchase, they'd just do the online order for you. You might as well order online to save yourself the stress of lining up

My take on reading this thread and Costco's website: Michelin's are currently on sale until Dec 3, then Bridgestone is going on sale Dec 4th. So you should wait until the 4th if you want the blizzaks.
Just got a quote for the BridgeStone Blizzak WS80 from both Costco and Tires23. Both of them quoted me very similar price. But how come Tires23 has $70 VISA mail-in rebate, and Costco told me they don't have any mail-in rebate from BS yet?

That means effectively Costco is more expensive then my local Tires23 store? Is this true? (I tried calling Costco Tires Centre again, but they never picked up the phone.......)

Got my winter tires on today from Kal Tire. They did a really good job, they even had windows so you can watch your vehicle get serviced. I overheard the service reps talking to customers calling in and their next available appointment was Dec 4th. Glad I made my appointment last week.
Yeah, I was impressed with Kal Tire, too. They text you a reminder of your appointment, and text again when your vehicle is ready. They even left me a voicemail just in case. Also they have fresh, buttery popcorn and tea/coffee/hot chocolate and a TV with couches if you choose to wait there.

Really busy here too. I had to wait a week to get my tires mounted.

Costco will have in-house $70 INSTANT rebate come December. They cycle each month between Pirelli, Bridgestone, Michelin etc.

It is better than Mail In Rebate IMO.

2017 Civic hatch here, my stock tires are P215/55 R16 93H. Decided to go with the Xi3.

First time buy tires, does below in my image look correct? I assume i still have to book an appointment after i order it? What if the tires come before or after my appoitnment?

*Edit Should i downsize? what would the equivalent be if i do?

Can I still submit for mail-in rebate after buying from Costco even though the rep said there is none? I assume the same Bridgestone mail-in rebate would work at any store?

You can 'downsize' to P205/65 R15 (according to tirerack.com). Downsize if you are going to save money.

No you cannot. If you read the fine print tires bought at Costco and online are excluded from the mail in rebate.

Big companies like Costco have separate arrangements with the manufacturers.

Also with Costco instant rebate in BC, $70 is deducted before tax. Mail-in rebate is after tax.

For GTA driving should I go for the X-Ice Xi3 or Blizzak WS80? We have two cars, one gets a lot of driving, the other a bit less.

Need to replace winter tires on my 2011 Ford Edge. Stock size of winter tires were 18" and originally I downsized to 17", specifically 235/65/17. Would like to go with either Hikka R2 SUV or Michelin XI3. It appears that Michelin does not make the XI3 in the 235/65/17. Can I go with a different size that they do make? Any size suggestions?

thanks,
