Anyone know if Costco checks your card when you go get the tires installed? I bought them using my dads membership.

Go for Bridgestone or Michelin
Too expensive Persevering Face

Anything you would suggest with that price range?

Yes you will have to go in with that membership to install the tires or they will refuse the service.

I just saw some very fresh Blizzak DM-V2 225/65R17 tires at Elgin Mills / Hwy 404 Costco for $149.99 that were made week 39 of 2017. That is somewhere between Sep 25 and Oct 1, 2017 manufacture date.

I just tested out my pirelli ice zero fr on my TL this Sunday during the snow day in Ottawa and they performed really well. I was trying to test the tipping point but wasn’t able to.

Got the Continental winter contact si at CT. They were able to give me the promotion pricing 20% (manager override) they had a couple weeks ago. Paid with the rexall 10% off gift cards and did the mounting for $60 at a local tire shop.

Just make sure you check the date codes when buying from CT. I had a 2015 January tire in my set but I was able to exchange them all for 2017s.

Got the continental since Michelin excludes CT from the mail in rebate

Edit - looks like you can get Michelin rebate now from ct:
Please note that the MICHELIN $70 mail-in rebate cannot be combined with Costco (From October 13 to December 15, 2017)
and Canadian Tire (from October 20 to November 23, 2017) instant rebate.

sorry, very late to the thread.. and I am on the hunt for winter tires.
I have been looking on kijiji for used tires but ranges are 300-450.

So now considering new tires. I need it for my 2005 Corolla (185/65/R15).
What's a good deal on these and how to check the manufacture date?

New promo from Kal tire: Kal Tire is supporting local food banks with a special promotion! Grinning Face With Smiling Eyes From Nov. 27 to Dec. 16, for each set of tires a customer purchases, Kal Tire will give $50 to the customer and match it with a $50 donation to the local Food Bank.

The promo can be combined with tire rebate or discount. I got the Nokian HK R2 SUV tires for my 2017 CR-V at $100 off: 50 from local food bank promo, and 50 from Nokian instant rebate. Used the membership to get another extra 10% off. Total paid $180.48 per tire for the HK R2 SUV. Bought the steel wheels from Costco to take advantage of 25 off masterpass offer. Total paid for the Nokian HK R2 SUV tires + steel wheels + installation + tax (AB) is $1118. Not bad I think. :)

Look for a marking on the tire's sidewall that has four digits like in the image below. The format is WWYY. So this tire was made in the 30th week of 2017.

If you want to look that up, you can use this https://www.epochconverter.com/weeks/2017 to see that the tire was made somewhere between July 24 - 30, 2017.

Got Altimax arctic 205/65/r15 in $72 after tax from CanadianTire ($376 tires + $50 tax - $35 generaltire rebate - $100 CT promotion for cyber monday) with free installation (no balancing) and got them balanced from costco in $22. Used OEM rims (hub centric) from kijiji in $25. overall package $335 for new tires (installed+balanced) and used rims :) :)
