What do you define as a "secretary" car? Is this a new class of cars or are they just cars you just happen to think look feminine? Last time I checked the GTI and Golf R were huge hits both on and off the track.....
Probably the latter. Kind of like how the Audi TT was a "hairdresser's" car because of its very rounded styling which made it popular with women (supposedly).

Straight lines speed isnt everything. 200-300 is enough for fwd for daily.

got excited when this made it to FP, hoping for some news on the 2018 GTIs....
any news when the orders on 2018 will start? When do we actually get a concrete answer (from VW) on what the 2018 will bring in NA?
Last I heard orders on 2017 were stopped end of March, with plant retooling commencing in April.

+1 Loads and loads of usable torque too.

The best is pulling away from traffic lights, without passing 2000rpm...and 6th gear at 60km/h. GTI is a car for all purposes, fun, practical and does well when pushed.

BTW you can get a GTI 2018 5 year lease 16,000 km for 390$ right now. The residual value is so high that you only pay 51% of the car.

Just ordered one.

Is this the regular or Autobahn? I might go order one as well if that's the case. Is this $390 tax included? Can you PM bill of sale?

Yeah, need more details on this. I'm interested in GTI as well although I'm more interested in golf R.

My guess this is the 2 door barebones version with the manual transmission and no tax or PDI included.

There is no 2 door GTI. The 2018 GTI is more or less a GTI SE in the USA. It's very well equipped.

There is a 2 door (well 3 if you want to be technical) for 2017. Did they get rid of it for 2018? I'm looking for 4 door one anyways. 2 door is too small.

There is no 3 door for 2018. Instead they are bringing 2 versions of the 5 door. The base and autobahn. Autobahn has standard leather now.

Deals are to be had. I can get into a DSG 5 door (2018 model) for about $370 all in on a 36 month lease (12k kms). But I am in Alberta so 5% tax only.

That can't be with taxes, freight/pdi rolled in with zero down ?

Even a CL golf with driver assist for 4 yrs (51%residual) @20k a year is $400 inc tax a mth for lease (msrp would be $430) with Max security deposit

GTI is at 51% residual for 5 yrs?

I'm in Quebec (15% taxes)

Base model 5 doors, manual which is pretty well equiped (30K + Prep)

0 down taxes included... high residual = Low payments

MK7.5

400$ with Winter tires 5 year lease 16,000KM

Ask your dealer I ordered yesterday and there was only 4 orders Canada wide so far.

Pretty new deal... Will only get it in December tho!
