2019 Canadian Dividend Increases

I thought it would make sense to start a new thread for 2019 Canadian Dividend Increases.

The Board of Directors of Canadian Utilities Limited, an ATCO Company, today declared a first quarter dividend of 42.27 cents per Class A non-voting (TSX:CU) and Class B common share (TSX:CU.X), a 7.5% increase over the 39.33 cents paid in each of the four previous quarters.

CALGARY, Alberta, Jan. 10, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Board of Directors of ATCO Ltd. (ATCO) today declared a first quarter dividend of 40.48 cents per Class I Non-Voting (TSX:ACO.X) and Class II Voting Share (TSX:ACO.Y), a 7.5% increase over the 37.66 cents paid in each of the previous four quarters. This common share dividend is payable March 31, 2019, to shareholders of record on March 7, 2019. These dividends are eligible dividends within the meaning of the Income Tax Act (Canada).

Firm Capital Mortgage Investment Confirms Special Year-End Dividend

08:26 AM EST, 01/10/2019 (MT Newswires) -- Firm Capital Mortgage Investment Corporation (FC.TO) confirmed overnight Wednesday the December regular and special year-end dividend of $0.05 per share, that total $0.128 per share, will be payable on January 15, 2019 to shareholders of record on December 31, 2018. The company said that it is making a special year-end dividend to distribute all of the corporation's net income earned in 2018. It added the special dividend is not indicative of future performance.

Total dividends paid to shareholders in 2018, including the December and special year-end dividends, amount to $0.986 per share, said the company.

Firm Capital also announced a monthly cash dividend of $0.078 per share payable to shareholders of record.

07:46 AM EST, 01/21/2019 (MT Newswires) -- MTY Food Group (MTY.TO), franchisor and operator of multiple concepts of restaurants worldwide, said Monday that it is increasing its quarterly dividend by 10% to $0.165 per share from $0.15 per share, payable on February 15, 2019 to shareholders registered at the end of the business day on February 4, 2019.

CEO Eric Lefebvre said: "This increase represents the seventh increase since our first dividend declared in 2010. This increase further demonstrates not only our confidence in the ability to generate solid cash flows in the future, but also our confidence in our brands and our franchisee network."
