so when I'm filing my taxes I have to calculated dividends based on exchange rate on each dividend paid date?
If you hold the units in a taxable account, your broker should send you a T5013 slip. I've just been copying the amounts (they are already converted to CAD) into my tax software. Part of the distribution may not be immediately taxable, but instead reduces the cost base of the units--you need to track that yourself to calculate capital gains when you sell the units. There is more tax information on the Brookfield website.

SVI - StorageVault Canada Inc

In what I will call "classic" svi style they didn't specify additional detail for this 0.5% increase to their Q1 dividend. Is it go forward? Q1 only?

How much of a $ increase is it actually?

Taking the current dividend $0.002601 * 1.005 = $0.002614005. Full year $0.01045602 (Current full year $0.010404).

No link yet. Only on tmx site.
[STORAGEVAULT CANADA INC. (“StorageVault”) (SVI-TSX-V) is pleased to announce that, based on strong quarterly and year over year results, StorageVault is increasing its quarterly dividend for Q1 2019 by 0.5%.

I love how they use the phrase "strong quarterly and year over year results" and a 0.5% dividend increase in the same sentence. Like, why even bother?! Face With Tears Of Joy

There's alot of focus nowadays on how many consecutive years a company has increased its dividends so you can definitely expect some of these to be in these "dividend aristocrats" type of discussions while delivering minimal increases YOY.

I agree, was thinking as well they're trying to set themselves up for that eventually.
