2019 Honda Pilot (Mid-cycle Refresh)

Doesn't look like the hybrid version is out yet.

Slightly more aggressive grill treatment and LED headlights. Honda Sensing (lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control and forward collision mitigation) is now standard on all Pilots and the "buggy" 9-speed transmission has had some rework. And don't forget the all important volume knob which makes its momentous return.

Not a significant change. Great that they have added some features as standard.

Disappointed, I was really hoping they would give it the Accord dash. Oh well.

9 speed ZF = nah..
The 9 speed transmission is only available on the Touring model. The 6 speed remains standard.

There seems to be a war against the standard shifter... either a weird iteration of it or buttons of some kind. Is this driven by consumer feedback or some desire to be uber.

It’s nothing new. First appeared around 1913 and was used wide spread in 1950s and fell out of favor in late 1960s. The push button shifter is the very reason we didn’t buy the Pilot Touring.

I think it is just auto makers attempt to try something different.

Looks like they reached into the parts bin from the Odyssey for the headlights. Not a bad thing. Other than that, looks pretty much the same.

I for one was really looking that Pilot EX-L Navi very closely at one point, but with all the great reviews of the Subaru Ascent so far it's going to be a very tough decision.

There are safety benefits to the push button shifter. It will automatically go to park if you open the door in D, etc. Physical shifting knobs can't do that. Though an electronic one likely could.

I believe it's upper trims only, so if you stick with the six speed you'll also enjoy the standard shifter.

A little bit more power and I would definitely consider as a future replacement for my current 2016 Explorer Sport.

Lol. The Pilot is .1 second slower 0-60 than the Explorer Sport, and identical times on 5-60mph rolling start as per Car and Driver.
