I took Amtrak last year to Portland (Not direct). Very nice train ride that travels beside the Ocean to give some amazing views. For the price, I highly recommend. I plan on using Amtrak next year to go see the Hawks/Mariners. The Seattle Amtrak station is a few hundred yards from Qwest Stadium & Safeco Field. Note: Amtrak cars also have plugins for your electronic devices in the executive (or first class) seats. I sat there when no one else claimed them, and watched some movies on the DVD player - YMMV!

For those with small kids, this would be a great and economical way to take them on an exciting train ride!

Caught the train out of Bellingham, but seem to remember around 3 or 4 hours. Go plug it in on the Amtrak website. It WAS on-time though, as they were picking up at Stops along the way.
