Hey Everyone,
Venice Fitness seems to have a good purchase at 27$ for a 3 month all access gym membership that comes with a free personal training session. I tried looking up reviews, and Venice Fitness seems pretty average.
Anybody care to comment? The deal said that their last "Group Purchase" was very popular.

hmmm, I live like 5 mins away from venice, Anyone have reviews on the venice gym in scarborough!??! For some reason, Its never packed when I drive by it and I always see nice cars when I do pass by. Is venice like premier/wynn where they force you to sign a contract before you can tkae the 3 months?

I know they had a location on King and Spadina, but I recall them renovating/going out of business. Dont know if they are open/operating out of that location anymore.
They also do tanning etc. Small boutique style gym at their downtown location. Got pretty busy during lunch hours._______________Homer SimpsonI saw this movie about a bus that had to SPEED around a city, keeping its SPEED over fifty, and if its SPEED dropped, it would explode! I think it was called The Bus That couldn't Slow Down.

used my voucher the other day. They force you to buy a keytag/membership card which is around $18 in total. Website says u gotta pay $10 for membership... but on a good note, the gym is nice and they don't force u to take the personal fitness.

Hi Congeetime,
I'm one of the owners of DealCanada. You should have only had to pay $10 for the membership card. (Regularly $25, but we negotiated $10 for deal buyers)
Please email us at support with your username and I will credit your account with the extra $8.
Sorry for any hassle.
~ Chad

A similar deal is back on Dealfind today. Does anyone have any reviews about the Scarborough location at all?

Scarborough Venice Fitness
I used the online 3 months deal with venice in scarborough - it was a total nightmare to deal with the billing issue.
Why, the billing issue even though you fully paid for the online deal ONLINE? That's where the catch is.
To use the deal, they require you to give your credit card/payment info, from which point....
THEY WILL DO AYTHING AS THEY PLEASE - AND YOU HAVE NO CONTROL but to cancel your credit card.
Enough said. I will never join again, and fully regret doing so.
On the upside - It's a quiet gym - - and you'll notice that no one goes there...for the reasons I found out too late

The reason they reduce the price is obvious, even if it was $1 --they will use it as bait and a chance to get anyone's credit card information.
It's been 8 months since I cancelled, and they charged for 4 months while I was sorting out the billing mess after the deal ended.
The staff there seem very friendly at first, but after they get you, they will act dum, incompetent and be totally ignorant to anything you say.
The "new manager" will say he'll reverse the charge, 2nd person will say "we never reverse CC charges - can send you cheque", when I said I'll pick it up next time, all of a sudden they are like "we can't send a cheque - you can use the gym for extra month" --this took 2-3 months. You will just be running around in circles. Finally I had to file a claim with BBB ( Council of Better Business Bureaus ) and finally someone there started listening..but I still did not get a penny back. IT STILL TOOK FOREVER to get it sorted out, and a lot of wasted time ...is this worth the $10-30 deal? I don't think so.
Just a heads up for future members --
As I said the gym is not bad, but they really do get you with the money....and why be deceived into wasting hard earned money.

nightmare gym
Had the same experience. When I signed up, I made it clear that I had no intention of keeping the membership after 3 months and the guy told me to call in and cancel anytime before my trial ended. When I called to cancel, the manager refused because I needed to give 2 months notice and they charged me an extra month, despite protests that the 2 months only applies to those who signed a year membership according to the contract.
She said the only way to reverse the charge is if the membership guy says so. When I asked to speak to him, she told me that he doesn't work there anymore. Never joining their gym again.
Half the lockers are broken, there is never any soap in the washroom. Terrible service. I never got my fitness training session that came with the groupon deal either.

My nephew is considering this gym now that his Extreme club has converted to a Goodlife. Can anyone comment on the membership process now? It is to be a graduation gift, if all checks out alright the location.
(My husband and I did drive by and stick our heads in earlier this week. It was surprisingly quiet....)
