UPGRADES:
$60 for 16 GB SODIMM RAM from NCIX, put one stick in this laptop and put the other 8 GB stick in another laptop. Ram is cheap and useful for iTunes (resource hog) and web browsing with lots of tabs.

Take out optical drive and put a small SSD in for OS. For the more technically inclined, harder than replacing ram but is easy enough to do

Would this be a decent HTPC. I hate such large laptops but I could just shove this behind a wall mounted tv to use as htpc.
Edit: Is this available online on BD?

Processor seems slow: http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-E-S...r.73564.0.html
835 points: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/midlow_range_cpus.html
At that price, one should think about the Dell E6400 (refurb).

This is a very fast netbook class CPU. $298 is a decent price though.
