With my last dd, I decided I wanted one (they were just becoming available) and I have to say they larger wheels made them much more maneuverable.
It also eliminated the need for two or three strollers. One for running, one for the mall, one for the car as it collapsed easily and was lightweight.

3 Wheeled strollers
Seeing as these strollers are so popular, I was wondering why they are so popular now. Are they supposed to be safer? Durable? just wondering before we start to buy our baby stuff.

Definitely go for a three wheeler with large tires, but make sure the front wheel can pivot. The fixed wheel strollers are a huge pain to navigate compared to ones with a free floating front wheel. (My Schwinn can lock the wheel in place for running, as well)
We had a very expensive Even Flow travel system that died young and didn't work at all for extended walks, especially in moderately rough terrain. Our Schwinn three wheeler is now twice as old, looks 5 times as good, and is fantastic on any surface.
I just saw a Schwinn at Costco the other day that was similar, but had a shorter wheelbase and a better sunshade than mine has. For ~$150, it looked great._______________

Hi there. We have 3 strollers now, and I must say that the 3 wheeled one we have is great, too. We bought it of ebay, and it's called "dreamer design, manhattan". It is a 2005 model, with 12" wheels x3, and it does ride very smoothly. It is not perhaps, as steady as I'd like it to be. I can't hang bags over the handle, but then again, I usually use it when I am just doing more walking, rather than shopping. My husband loves using it, and dd loves being in it. If you want any more info, you can post here, or PM me. There's a website...I think it'd be: dreamerdesign.com or you can google the name.
Cheers,
Bees.
