360 scratched my copy of PD0: Future Shop return policy?
So I was playing 360 the other day and I thought it'd be a good idea to prop the system up while there was a disc in the drive. As it turns out, not a great idea. The system apparently scratches discs if you so much as shift the unit.
The game runs fine in multiplayer, but due to a circular scratch around the disc, I'm unable to progress beyond halfway into the 11th level of the game. I still have the store receipt from Future Shop. Should I try to return it for another copy?
The other problem is that it seems they don't have any in stock. Can I take a rain check from them?
Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks_______________

I dont think stores can allow returns on opened video games anymore due to copyright laws. You will probably have to convince them that the disc is defective and came all scratched up. If that doesnt work you can always try fixing it with a disc repair kit. Please note it is not just Xbox360 that scratches discs while the disc is being read and the unit is moved the same thing happened to me when I shifted my computer with a disc reading inside and also a dvd player. Apparently the movement causes the laserhead on alot of devices which are meant to be stationary when reading to come in contact with the disc so be careful.

But how can you do an exchange if there's no stock? Like OP asked, do they give you a raincheck?
