Decent card but sucks when compared to the 7600GT (which was on sale for 119 last week from ncix, and 129 the week before from ncix... odds are it will be on sale again this week for around that price).
The 7600GS and GT use the same core but the 7600GT uses faster ram (a lot faster); therefore, producing much higher frames per second.
Too lazy to get into the details but the difference is fairly large (probably biggest out of all the nvadia cards between GS and GT).

(purevideo) h.264 acceleration is pretty pointless right now, can't use it from coreavc/ffdshow/x264/etc.

I know this is 3X the amount, but the geforce 7950 GT OC is only $299 off of ncix.com which is a substantially better card considering it's like running two 7900 GT OC cards in SLI
Here is a chart comparing the benchmark frames per second between the two cards. They are the one's highlighted in BLUE.

considering its a staples easyrebate, and for 20 more bucks, you can use a 20 off 150 coupon, its not too bad. 130-20+tax-30= $95.40 (assuming you need something else from staples anyways) (or you could look at it as paying $119.50 and getting a free $20 item.)
ncix wil cost you 149+S&H+GST-20= $148.54 for a 7600GT assuming you live outside BC.
over 50% more money for the 7600GT. you can argue that its worth it, but then I can say that a 7900GT and GS is also worth the extra money. And a they can give you a better % increase in performance than the difference between 7600GT and GS doller for doller.
The performance needs for everyone are different. if your playing the occasional game, perhaps at medium quality or slighly lower resolution, i don't see this card being a problem.
The ability to run SLI always exists for future upgrades. I'm sure you'll be able to pick one up for 50 around mid next year.Of course, this is assuming you like using FSAA & Anisotropic filtering, because thats when SLI really shines. (F.E.A.R. would be better with the dual 7600GS's). otherwise, dual 7600GS perform about the same as a 7600GT in most things.
Remember people, you can't compare a single card with an SLI config if AA and ASF are not being used. nor can u use low resolution. SLI only really shines at hi-res or when these 2 settings are bumped up. SLI is for the ability to use high quality settings and high resolution and get decent FPS, not crazy raw FPS at crappy rez low crappy quality.
anyways, bottom line, deal is indeed hot_______________

Just note that this card has a fan and is not passively cooled like many 7600GS.
I had one briefly the last time it was at this price but took it back and ended up with an ASUS passively cooled 7600GS for my HTPC.
Still, not a bad deal.

I picked one up using a $10.00 off $100.00 coupon, $90.00 for the geforce 7600 is the best deal i've seen in a while, usually this is the price of the 7300.
