The 5030 ($1878) and 5025 ($1599) are back in stock!
Well that didn't last long. Probably only had 1 or 2 in stock.

Still not happy with the 4030 I bought btw, I ended up receiving another unit (since the original had so many dust blobs, they were visible in dark scenes). Now, look at the panel uniformity, compared to my old 3020. for those who bought higher end units (like the 5025), how does this looks on yours?

I finally got around to checking the uniformity with a gray test pattern on my 5025ub. It looks decent:

I just realized these prices are all in USD?
Prices on epson.ca are in CAD. There is also a clearance center on the epson.com (US) site: prices there are in USD.

Very nice, will post my results when i receive my 5030UBe
Does that mean your 5030 has shipped? Congrats! I think you'll be very pleased, the black levels on the 5025 are amazing and from what I can tell the 5030 is nearly identical (with some theoretically additional brightness).

What would you recommend for a room that isn't very light controlled. Have a Benq HC1200, but can only really watch it when the sun goes down :(

Any of these in the $1500 range that would be much better in ambient light?

not really, those are not very bright, they are more tailored to a light controlled room (and they have excellent contrast).

you should look into the 3000 series for more light (3500, 3700, etc).
