Lots of new units added, they even have the 4030 for 1100ish, but you can only add to cart on the US site .
you can add to cart on the canadian site as well, it's just a little bug on the javascript. I won't post how to fix here (not sure if violate the rules), but if anyone wants to buy let me know and I can explain.

Got my 3000 loaner from Costco. Meh, am I glad that I didnt buy the 2040. Even the 3000 doesnt make me happy (although i havent palyed much with picture).

I hope they will put the 4040 in the low 2000 range, as I am now convinced I need motorized lens, HDR and better contrast.

Non of the Royal Purple is BMW qualified which voids your drivetrain warranty.. especially for those who owns the 3.0L N54 engine

you have no ideas how a report of stolen credit card (...) affect your credit. Happened twice in your history, that bank won't issue a credit card for you

The 2040 is once again available on the site, I ordered one but I am now second guessing the purchase because of how far you need to drop this one from the ceiling to avoid keystone correction.

Do you guys buy your bulbs directly from Epson or is there a better source?

Depends on the actual projector, the lamp for the 2040 was cheap enough that there was no reason to risk with "compatible" one. its officially $100 and was able to get it on sale for $85 from Mike's computer shop

I have the 8350, two years ago it was $299 and now it's $399 for a bulb. Just feels like I'm getting ripped off and should consider another projector with cheaper bulbs.

I've sifted through all 77 pages and it seems everyone is looking at all the higher-end projectors. I'm looking for one to use on occasion so i don't want to spend a lot of money.
the cheapest one is the VS240 SVGA 3LCD Projector at $240 (about 35% off the original). it says 3000 lumens which from what i've researched shows the brightness.
I'd like to use it for evening/night time movies outdoors. I know the more expensive ones are best but i'm really looking to use it a couple times a month during the summer so the cheaper the better.
any insight would be much appreciated! Thanks

+1 same here for the backyard during summer. I saw a bunch of prejectors on amazon. ca that has wifi built in with lots of 5 star reviews but fakespot shows them with a D or F rating

SVGA is quite low res at 800x600, also not widescreen, not sure how it would look on a larger-ish screen, replacement lamp is cheap at $100 (expensive compared to the cost of the projector though)
So a 16:9 movies will be playing at 800x452

The HC 740HD is a better buy in my opinion at $399 with 720p resolution, that's 2.5x more pixels for a 16:9 picture (actually 16:10 1280x800, same lamp but in eco mode, good for 10k hours vs 6k on the VS240), also better contrast (15k vs 10k:1)
But then the HC 1040 at 1080p is "just" another 70$ away

Been peeping their website few times a day for more than a month now - still no decent deal on motorized lens :(.

I still have more than 2 months on my Costco 3000 rental, but if nothing shows up, I am actually considering buying two projectors - one cheapo 2040 (cheap replacement bulbs too) for my kid and everyday 16:9 content and a better one for 2.35 movies... I'll be doing motorized lift using an actuator anyway, so I would have them one behind the other...

Anyone own 3700 ?
I'll have the projector right over my head in basement and wondering how loud it is.
