i used 3web for dial up some years ago...except for their ad software, i didnt see anything bad about it....it was free internet also... so they must be ok..
Do you know if 24.95 is not for 3 months or something? is this the price u will pay till u decide to cancel? I just signed up for bell dsl 1 month free and 4 months at 24.95 but i will try this at the end of 5 months or after my free month depending on the feedback or if bell sucks....
do u know the price of cable modem?? or is everyone going dsl?
If the modem is around 77$, i guess you can make it up in 4 months of saving and the modem is urs.

Has anybody gotten this deal? I'm in the market for DSL, but I really want to know if A) there is ad software required, B) why it requires PC (for ad software or just the usual crap CD you get from ISPs) and C) if I can plug it into a firewall / router like you can with other high speed internet options.
Thanks!

It seems like us cable users have to wait for Rogers to get it's act together. 3web told me to wait 1-2 months to settle some issues with them. Also a non-advertisment software is required. Modems quoted at $60(erricson) and $98(toshiba)

Hey Everyone, I ordered the service on Wed. Sept. 24, and my modem has still not arrived. so I called and guess what....there has been some problems... ....the guy told me i had DSL available and the representative I called today said there is no DSL available!? he told me the guy made a mistake! damn guy how much of a mistake could he make!?!?! I used the online web assistance they have. and i signed up online, so hey could clearly see my number and postal code. BTW they will not be having any CABLE INTERNET anytime soon due to problems with ROGER'S. SO really the only ppl this is available to are people who already have BELL SYMPATICO DSL.....(since they provide internet through the same lines as ROGERS AND BELL.)
SO watch out....AND DO NOT CANCEL YOUR CURRENT ISP until YOUR MODEM ARRIVES..........

Hhhmm...I found the catch...they don't offer free Tech Support!!!!!
If you call and go to a live Help Desk Agent, they charge $5.95/incident:
If you experience trouble connecting to the Internet via 3webXS, please call 1-866-330-9511. This is a toll-free line that offers free pre-recorded problem-solving tips and technical walkthroughs, as well as access to our live Help Center. Live help desk support is available Monday to Friday 8AM to Midnight EST, and 11AM to 9PM EST weekends and statutory holidays. Please note that access to our live help desk costs $5.95 per incident, billed to your 3web account."

This may not be an issue for some users but could be for others...buyer beware!
