That's a pretty good deal especially for those that regularly use the 401 during those times - could end up actually saving you money in reduced gas consumption and time.

OP update the title to show the offer is targeted

just wow!
Maybe it's because I'm not from Ontario? but the concept of paying to use a highway is ridiculous!

Income and sales taxes of 50% of gross revenu aren't enough it seems lol!

from wiki:
Despite being included in the 400-series network, the Highway 407 ETR section is not considered part of the provincial highway network due to it now being privately operated.[7] The segment is operated privately under a 99-year lease agreement with the provincial government, which was sold in 1998 for approximately C$3.1 billion to a consortium of Canadian and Spanish investors operating under the name 407 International Inc.[8] The privatization of the Highway 407 ETR section has been the source of significant criticism,[9] especially regarding the increases in tolls, plate denial, and false charges. In addition, the safety of segments constructed following the sale of the freeway has been called into question. Many have come to regard Highway 407 ETR as a luxury, as opposed to the bypass of Highway 401 it was originally conceived to be.

Meh, 407 can go eff themselves with their sketchy deals. Cost me $23 to go from Thornhill to Oshawa, won't be using it again.

I can only imagine, if the 407 was not a toll highway how much more civilized the 401 could be. Look at how many trucks and commercial vehicles are clogging up the 401 en route to points west of Toronto.

You can thank Mike Harris and the cons for selling it to a shady Spanish company for that. Most profitable toll road the in the world (which it is) is just a euphemism for biggest ripoff.

Agreed. I haven't used the 407 in years. The only time I'd support tolling a road or a bridge is to cover the cost of building it. Once the cost is recovered then the tolls should be removed. This, is just a ripoff.

If the 407 wasn’t a toll route it would end up being just as useless as the 401 for traffic
I wish the 427 were a roll route, now that would be perfect
I prefer to pay not to have to sit in traffic

Didn’t get an email for this offer but it wouldn’t help me either way

Don’t ever drive in the US then

If you had to sit in east west traffic for hours during rush hour you might change your opinion

Sure, but a toll road in the US will cost you $1.80 for the amount of distance the 407 charges you $30.

The 407 is the biggest piece of shit boondoggle the cons have ever sold to the unsuspecting public. Harris should have been arrested and prosecuted for fraud and put in jail for the 407 BS.

Point taken
my point was in regards to paying to use a highway, regardless of the cost
