Read speed is never going to be a problem with any SD card, even for video playback. Video recording is another matter, but devices like the Mio GPS don't record video, so not a big concern.
Someone recently did an extensive test on the read/write speeds of various 4GB SD cards which I think was posted somewhere here on RFD, but I can't find the link now.
BTW, you might want to check out this page about compatibility with SD card readers as well: http://www.luminous-landscape.com/re...s/4gb-sd.shtml

if your writing to this card you will find that it is very slow.. it seems to have a slow write/fast read.
I took mine back because it was soooo slow writing.. probably around 10x in my opinion maybe less.._______________

just bought the Kingmax today, and boy is it slow... I'm trying to copy 1GB of data from old card onto the new 4GB card and its taking like 15 minutes. Is the return policy only exchange, no refunds at CC?

depend on how do you use it
if you use it on a Card reader then it will give you better speed
but if you using camera or Mio to transfer file then it will take for ever
i transfer 4GB in just 5-10 mins but if i use my Mio it take forever
