50 inch Sharp LED 1080P Roku TV- Best Buy USA - $299USD

Awesome little TV for $299 USD. Picked one up for the bedroom and very happy with it. Nice bright and crisp picture. The Roku TV- works well. All in with FX conversion and tax was $408 CAD for me.
Same TV on sale this weekend in Best Buy Canada for $599.

ooh to live close the the border would be so grand. I miss cross the border shopping so much. We used to get the Detroit newspaper for the sales ... you know before the internet. ...lol. so we could plan our shopping adventures.

No not to Canada. You would have to ship one of the many shipping depts at the border and bring across

Man, 50 inch TV's are so cheap now. I'm really looking for a 55-60 inch set, but prices like this make it difficult to pass up.

No duty. I only paid GST as I am an 'Alberta resident'

I often buy items on BestBuy.com and pick up at a Best Buy in the US that is near enough. I use my Canadian credit card on the US site with no problems except you have to use the "international" address (BestBuy HQ in Texas) so that they know that you are a client from outside the US.

Man, I'm heading to Minneapolis in a week and would love to snag one of these. But looks like no stores have them in stock :(

When buying a TV in the US. What happens when you drive to the border ? How much tax do you have to pry for example on a TV like this? At Niagara Falls border.

13 percent sales tax, recycling fee and duties. Not worth it if you declare it or get caught

Did you read the "International Orders" help page at Bestbuy.com?

Options for placing a BestBuy.com order with a non-U.S. billing address:
-Have your order shipped to a mailing address within the 50 United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam or an APO/FPO address.
-Pick up your order at any U.S. store or choose to have someone else pick up your order.

I've never been charged duty in a single item I've declared at the border hat wasn't alcohol. Besides, I think there is zero duty on electronics.

Not sure if they'd charge the recycling fee or not, once again, I've never been charged that fee on electronics, even when I was pulled in to pay taxes. (HST).
