The Costco HP Mini 311 also comes with the Nvidia ION and the futureshop comes with the Nvidia ION LE.
With double the Ram, an extra 90 GB's of HD space, the better chipset with the ION, and Windows 7 Home Premium, I think the Costco dealt for $70 extra is well worth it

It is netbook class and this configuration has the sim slot but no WAN card.
You can get one from HP or Ebay and install it yourself.

There's 0 difference between the chipset.

$70 extra
let's do the math.
1 extra 1 gb ram = ~$20+
upgrade to 7 = $40 with student discount
so you are getting 90GB+ , 2 year limited warrany instead of 1 and 90days customer satisfaction (instead of 14days of futureshop) for $10!! extra
in case another prices drop happens in those 90days or maybe sumthing better comes up which I think that probably both are gonna happen.

Thanks to whoever suggested Touch Freeze. Pretty much fixes the problem completely. Too bad the touch pad and keyboard are bad enough to make me return it anyway.

The current coupon deal can get you the Lenovo Ion netbook for a pretty good price. Or to be more accurate, it gets you the chance to pray that your netbook will one day show up

It worked out a little differently in my case...
1. I have access to a (free) copy of Windows 7 Enterprise, which is a site licensed version.
2. I followed this thread, which does not involve any driver patch
http://myhpmini.com/forum/viewtopic....start=0#p17468
Instead, you make a bootable USB drive, download one file (HPBC228.exe), and run it (select 'g'). Reboot and you have permanently turned your ION LE to full ION. The existing W7 driver recognized it and upgraded itself with the full driver.
3. I upgraded to 3GB of RAM, so the extra 1GB that came with 1033CA would have been useless.
4. Likewise, I am getting a 500GB 7200 rpm HDD, so the 250GB drive could have been...
But don't get me wrong, the 1033CA with $50 is still a good deal. It's just that the 1000CA works out better for what I wanted.

amazon.ca has the same price as futureshop actually if futureshop has run out
quite glad that finally amazon.ca caught up with amazon.com in selling electronics and computers, though limited items in electronics and computers

Lenovo S12 and Samsung 510, but the mini 311 is the only one currently available in Canada.

Not on costco.ca anymore!
The sale is over today and then it's not on costco.ca anymore?
Maybe they are just getting rid of it and not carrying it anymore?

Staples online refilled their stock on mini 311's. They're still on sale for $400. However, if you know how to get their online coupons ($20 off $150), you can apply up to 2 coupons and get $40 off. People post their unused coupons in one of the Redflagdeals forum, but you have to be quick as they literately get taken within seconds.
Alternatively you can go do a price match with FS, which is selling at $430.
