7 Months into Rogers Contract, Already Have Upgrade Offers

I switched to Rogers in November (prev. with Telus), I have the HTC EVO 3D. The phone has been awesome in my opinion, really quick online and hasn't been laggy or had any issues.

Signed online the other day and i've got some upgrade offers. Galaxy SII, Razr, Optimus 3D or BB9900. Pay $35 admin fee + $79 for the phone & receive a $50 credit on my second bill.

If there was an Iphone 4s on there i'd do it in a heart beat. But still pretty interested in this deal, the SII has got lots of good reviews. The Razr looks cool but seems to be on par with my EVO 3D in terms of specs.

You guys think it's a no-brainer to move up to the SII?

GS2 is easily the better phone and it's hard to believe that you'd be offered an upgrade just 7 months into your contract, I'd advise you to take another look and see if there aren't more fees involved in the upgrade, other than that it's really up to you. Do you think you'd be content with the GS2 for the next 3 years or would you want to have another HUP in 2 years time? I suppose they're trying to clear their inventory of last year's models in anticipation for the release of the GS3

I wouldn't take any of those phones for the next 3 years. Unless you want to sell it for quick $$ while keeping your current phone.

See if they will let you take the renewal without taking a phone. That should wipe out whatever subsidy you have on your current phone and leave with an ECF of $12.50.

I just upgraded to the S2 LTE and its awesome. Look at the specs, its not the same as the original S2, its pretty close to the S3 already so if you were thinking the S3 is going to be *that* much better then you'd be disappointed. Plus, the S3 won't be a free upgrade when it comes out so you're not comparing apples to apples. It'll likely cost $200 with a 3 year commitment. The S2 is now a free upgrade so the "admin fee" and the phone cost is where they're dinging you on.

S2 lte is not close to the S3, just because they both have 1.5ghz dual core processors
