[The Bay] 8 x Spieglaus Vino Grande Wine Glasses $50 (Regular $180 - 73% Off)

Been looking for some red wine glasses and came across a decent deal on a box of 8 x Spieglau Red Wine glasses that are made in Germany. The Bay typically sells them for $180 but you can get them at Amazon.ca for $90. The Bay has them on for $49.99 right now which is 73% off their list. This comes to $6.25/glass before tax which is pretty great.

This appears to be in store only. I've seen in some reviews that people compare these to Riedel but being far from an enthusiast I can't comment.

Amazon Link to product: http://www.amazon.ca/Spiegelau-Vino-Gra ... grande+red @ $89.95

Note this is about the same price they go for in the US.

Here is the link to Amazon.com where they average 4/5 stars: http://www.amazon.com/Spiegelau-Vino-Gr ... B00004SUI6

Cheers!

Thanks OP.

FYI... the white wine glasses are also on sale for the same price, $49.99, and standard shipping is free for purchases of $100.01 or more.

Also, noted that SPIEGELAU IPA BEER GLASS Set/2, http://www.thebay.com/webapp/wcs/stores ... reId=10701, are on sale for $17.99, down from $29.99.

saw these for sale at Sears at their regular price of $80 today... I feel like the bay has added the 1 to the price in error?

Costco is selling the Bormioli Rocco vino regale wine glass set of 8 for $19.99 Would that be better buy? Or is the Spieglaus at the Bay is quality ?

For those wondering, Riedel = Spiegelau. Riedel bought Spiegelau about 10 years ago. Both make top notch wines glasses.

Riedel/Spiegelau are heads and shoulders better compared to the costco one. But truthfully, unless you have a good appreciation for wine, you won't tell much of a difference. The Spiegelau will really help you on the nose and colour, not so much on the taste. Crystal stem ware for wine makes a big difference compared to glass; it has to do with introducing oxygen as you swirl (glass is too smooth).

Unless you routinely pop expensive bottles, or have guests who really enjoy wine, this is probably not necessary for you. Great for those who love wine tho

We've had these wine glasses for years, and love them. They are good quality and at that price are a good deal.

What's that, the Costco/Regale ones for $20?
Or the Sears/Spieglau ones for $50?

I don't have wine glasses, if I ever bother to buy any, I drink it from Tupperware!!!!!!
I'm happy to report that most wine snobs, in a blind test, could not even tell the difference between white wine & red wine.
Sadly, that's a documented fact...

I own riedel wine glasses and can attest to the quality. Spiegelau and riedel I believe, are sister companies. This is a great deal for wine glasses, nice find!

You obviously don't know much about wine... And don't really take any pride in your dinning set.
