The quintessential 80s movie hands down has to go to The Breakfast Club. Ferris Bueller's Day Off is also pretty good. Get the Brat Pack series just to be safe.
For action, Terminator, Predator, RoboCop.
Will add more later.
Tip: Usually WalMart's clearance bins has cheesy 80s movies for $5 or so. Check those out for some surprises and hidden gems.

I'm building up a dvd collection of 80s movies and I was wondering what you guys recommend. My fav genres are action, comedy and teen movies.

Manhole covers being renamed "Personnel Access Units" to avoid offending women. In this era of political correctness, some people seem unaware that being squeamish about words can mean being blind to realities.Political correctness does not legislate tolerance; it only organizes hatred.Political Correctness doesn't change us, it shuts us up.

Halloween, the first one....They are now making a remake of it by Rob Zombie, which is coming out late summer/fall. Would be a nice collectible.

you'd be stupid not to include Jackie Chan's Police Story. (part 1 and 2)
i'd say 3 and 4 but those are in the 90s._______________
