8500GT 512MB with Vista Dual Monitors?
Is the 8500GT 512MB card decent for use with Vista in a dual monitor setup or will it score lower than the max? Not looking to game with this card but will be used in Vista setup for a development workstation.

If you don't plan on gaming, cad, or 3d design, you should be fine with that in dual monitor setup.
As long as youre not using the gpu to do too much work, you should be fine.

Thanks. Looking at an HP bundle that has this as the video card and not sure how much of an upgrade path it would have with the smaller HP power supplies. I'd sooner the 8800GT but not even sure this PC would handle it - http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...gon=&langid=EN
Main concern is getting decent desktop performance.

I have this card and I think you're way better off with an ATI3450 (cheaper) or maybe at least a 8600GT for about the same price.
I recently got a 9600GT and I installed it in a HTPC case with proprietary 300W PSU and it's getting by fine. 8800GT probably use a little more energy however.

Thanks, its more an issue of what comes in the bundle, I'd just as soon not buy a new setup and then have to start upgrading from day 1.
As long as the 8500GT will run Vista Aero in dual setup snappy I'm fine, just don't want it to be a bottleneck for day to day usage.
