Heeeeell no. I had just as good a time when I was just a poor student as I do now that I'm working. The bonus of money makes things easier but it doesn't make you happier. It's not that I think money doesn't help, but really, only you can take care of your happiness.

Does money equal happiness? Does having more make you a better person? What's with these polls anyways?

Q: $ == :-) ?
A: F.
#assumptions
me.happy= 1 #true
me.job = 'student'
if ($):
me.toys +=1 #more toys
else: #if no $ found
me.toys = me.toys #no change
if (me.job != 'student'):
me.location = newjob.location
IOW: money comes and goes. it doesn't make you happy nor sad._______________

Well it depends.
Are you at or below the poverty line?
Let's not forget that there are people in this world with barely a shirt on their backs let alone a roof over their heads.

more money than what you need doesn't make you any happier.
it's been proven with statistical experimentation. the average 'happiness' of a person earning more money compared to someone that has enough is the same.
'happiness' is human psychology, it all depends on a person's state. all depends on how the person defines it, the time, etc. it transcends multiple levels, e.g. happiness in spiritual, physical, etc.
money is just a simple single state item that makes exchange of goods easy and concise. otherwise, we would be bargaining on every trade.
but there are some people where money is the key factor of their happiness. hehe. anna nicole smith.

nice question..but I think I'll be much more happier with finer things in life..lol
Eventhough money cant get you true happiness but it can certainly enhance the happiness.
BMW M3 with 19" chromez and low profiles for me and my boyz would certainly make us much happier.. Along with some party money.. lol

Once you have enough to cover the basics, what then? I'm just saying that sometimes we can get too caught up in our possessions or how much money we make, or think we're gonna make. I'm not saying money is the devil
, I'm saying that the coveting of money may make us shallow, greedy people who think happiness and respect can be bought.

The people in my life at points (friends, family, girlfriends) have always made me happier than money has.

There was a study done with lottery winners asking if their lives were significantly better years after winning millions of dollars. What the researchers found out was that while initially there was the feeling of joy and happiness, people eventually grew accustomed to their situation and the euphoria died down. This is not to say that money didn't help, only that you'll get used to the situation and not think of it anymore.
Its like when you finish university and get your first full-time job. Its great finally being able to afford a new tv and put down a first payment on a new car, but you'll grow used to it and its nothing special anymore.
