People are not happy if they don't want to be, that's the bottom line. Two different people with the same socio economic standing can have completely different "happiness levels", simply because they are two different people.are you saying that nobody will ever be happy?

Heh, I think he's trying to say that no matter how much money you have, it doesn't really make you happier in the long run.

I don't think so. Wasn't there a survey that basically said that the happiest times in a person's life is usually their childhood or teens when they didn't have to worry about money?

Well from personal experience money is nothing without health. I'd give everything I own in a blink for good health, but it's not an option.

If you live and learn, you'll discover for instance, that people in very poor countries still have some very happy lives.
Your possessions and your wealth doesn't mean anything.. sure it's nice (to a point), but it has absolutely no bearing on your personal happiness.
Your happiness is internal and all to yourself.. it's a mental state of mind. How can a rich person commit suicide or be on anti-depressants?

I think having more money does means more happiness.
Why do people think they can't have both happiness and money?
I'm sure most people are much unhappier poor than when they are unhappy when they are rich. Would you rather be in debt and starving or too have too much money?

I would think that while money doesn't make you happy, it can make you happier.

Being a working poor doesnt make you happy. Living paycheque to paycheque doesnt make you happy. Living on the streets doesnt make you happy either.
In my opinion, money is a catalyst that lets happiness happen, without it life becomes very hard and you stop thinking about happy things and more about survival. Living like an animal is not the way humans should live. Money buys you time and freedom to find your hapiness wherever it may be.
