If you see 'Scheduled Delivery' next to the item, then they charge you $50 or $55 for delivery. I purchased a dishwasher from Future Shop 3 weeks ago and was charged the amount. No way around it unless you go in and buy it in-store.

Yeah, above answer is right. Just cancelled an order for 50" TV, $55 for scheduled delivery, $40 for eco tax plus HST Frigging daytime robbery

No, appliances no matter where you buy them, are charged a delivery fee. A 300 lb refrigerator is hard to deliver. I think they delivered long time ago in the 1960's for free but those days are gone forever.
Have a nice day!

St. John's
Try Leon's and local furniture stores. There are at least two local free delivery stores around St. John's with free local delivery, gotta be lots in Toronto.

I don't see free delivery option in GTA ATM, perhaps after Dec 28.
This is where retailers like BB could have made significant gain over others by offering nominal delivery charges or free pick up but they want nothing less than $55
I went to stores only to be told that dynex 50" is only available online

What are you all saying. Futureshop does not charge for appliance delivery... I've had a washer then 3 weeks later a dryer delivered, both with no shipping charge.

It may depend on region.

I recently bought a fridge from FS and had the delivery fee waived (mentioned that we were offered free delivery at another store, which we were actually advised to say by a sales person). What they did is reduce the price of the fridge by the delivery charge. I imagine they do that so that if you decide to return the item, they still keep the $50 they charge in delivery.

Ultimately, it's all about positioning, they're just carving out the charge from their product margin.

Depends on what the appliance is, but an option is to have free delivery to closest store for pick up. That gets around shipping charge. Works for lighter appliances. That's what I did for my dishwasher.

Bad Boy didn't charge me any delivery for our Stove, Fridge and Washer/Dryer that we purchased on-line boxing day. Confirmed delivery this Friday and this was no special deal or negotiated offer

So yeah it happens

Leons=the Brick now, at least here in Edmonton, they charge delivery just like their sister stores.
