"lasallejai: Thank you. I had mentioned in the SO7 thread that the waitresses told us it was last call about 1.5 hours after we sat down. Apparently no one believed me and said that it was 'weird' that they would do such a thing (ie. like i was lying ). For that, and for the less than par service we got there, I'm not going to SO7 again."
They did that to us twice actually, and it was a big turn off for us. Although in their menu it does state that there is a one and a half hour seating time limit, but then I do think it is rude to force the customers to leave when they are still trying to eat. 419 Music Bar and Steak Restaurant did the same to us twice, and we have decided not to go back any more as well. Many all you can eat places do state that they allow a 1.5 to 2 hour seating time limit, but hardly any one would be rude enough to kick us out when we reach the time limit, because we were actually still trying to eat--not that we just sat around to wait for the food to digest in order to order some more. If the food comes out fast enough, then actually 1.5 hours is more than enough, but then last time we went to SO7 only 3 waiter and waitresses were there serving 66 of us, and the food did not come out too promptly. It is just not fair that we had to spend 30 minutes waiting for food or even to order the food when we were allowed only 1.5 hours of seating time. If they cannot handle the number of customers during peak hours, then why should we be penalized for their shortcoming? I would not have whined about it if you did not bring this up, because we simply would not go back any more no matter how good their food quality is when Akiyama is there no more.![]()

Sad day. I remember on my 1st visit I stuffed down so many fried oysters.. mmMm! The owner even took the initiative to ask how my dinner was and gave me a business card telling me to come back again. Which I kept my promise and had lunch during this past Christmas. I was just planning a 3rd visit to this place to satisfy my japanese craving!
Any other cheap lunch AYCE Japanese places that is worth it like AKIYAMA? I really don't like AYCE dinners, as you have to stuff down quite a lot to make your moneys worth._______________
