How good is this model? In comparison to other MacBooks, re: price-quality ratio?

it's the 2017 model. mind you, the latest model can get quite expensive but for basics, it's fine. the price, that's on the expensive side as you can get non apple model (newer) for far much cheaper

Quality of the unit is very good. It has the old generation keyboard (NOT butterfly switch), so you won't have any keyboard problems with this generation. The processor is a 5th gen intel chip (we are on 8th gen now), and the ram is 8GB, with an older SSD hard drive.

Overall, the price for quality is not bad considering it's an apple product. If you compare it to a Windows based product, this is not a good deal.

I have an older generation macbook air from 2012 and it's been rock solid, this unit should be priced at $799 imo.

Would I buy this unit at this price? No. Only because Windows 10 is so good now I don't see the value in the apple ecosystem anymore. I only use to have apple products. Now my phone is Samsung, my tablet is samsung and my computer is a HP Envy.

If you can't get it today just reserve online and pick up tomorrow.

Possible ways to sweeten the deal is to PM with Staples and use coupon and finance 12 months no interest no payment.

EDIT: Fixed the link
Do they open tomorrow

5th Gen i5 with 900p TN screen for $1000 just doesn't seem like a good deal nowadays, even if Mac.

1269$ ? No thanks
it's way better than the Best Buy model for 269$ more. But hey, push the old stock.
