My AC is wasn't cooling anymore so I called the professionals who told me that the cooling coil ouside is leaking so I have to buy a new unit. (3.3 k new frigidaire sheer 14)

Now my Q is "Is that really my only option?"

To me it seems like a terrible desing to AC units then like wth a leak in the cooling coil and your whole AC system is goneeeee?????
