Just a quick question, I will be getting my dad's Accord, it is a 02 Accord Limited Edition V6 one. I would like to change the lightbulb to a whiter one. Now, i'm guessing the stock ones are halogen. Is it possible to swap it out and put XEONS or whatever those very white intense lights are? Where would I find them, and are they easy to install myself? How much am i looking at?

No.
HID units will cost about $300, but you need projectors, so that's another $300. And then you need to do a retrofit (i.e. mount projectors to your head lamp assembly) which can vary, but you will probably need to buy a new set of housings to do it unless you plan to not drive your car for a while.

Crap. So do they sell "white" looking halogen? I'm not gonna spend the $xxx amount of money i need to get HIDs and such, so anything closest to looking white?

Not sure if this helps but for the BULBS this is how it follows.
4300K (OEM), 5000K (Crystal Natural), 6000K (Crystal White), 6500K (Crystal Purple), 8500K (Crystal Blue).
Less Kelvins (K) has better Lumens (Brightness).
More Kelvins (K) has more Colours.
So I'm guessing you want to get 6000k bulbs._______________Can you feel the heat.... http://www.heatware.com/eval.php?id=41746

Pacific mall, formula import, they have these made in japan bulbs, good quality stuff, and their crystal white and pretty bright, but be prepared to pay 100 bucks. They're in the same league as PIAAs.

PIAA's are nice but they're damn expensive, might aswell go HID. Not to mention Pmall has jacked up prices OR bad quality.
Sylvania Silverstars are pretty good but I've had friends who's bulbs lasted 1 year and some who's have lasted only 3 months. They cost around 50 bucks and you can get them at places like Crappy Tire, oops....I mean Canadian Tire._______________Can you feel the heat.... http://www.heatware.com/eval.php?id=41746

Mar 12th, 2006 02:56 AM #10Thanks, i'll check out crappy tire for those. I guess anything will really do, since the stock bulbs seem very dim right now. I'll check the manual to see which ones to get.

Many have reported silverstars purchased in Canada and USA to not be too great. But the ones from UK are made by OSRAM I think and they seem to do better.
There was a site you can order these bulbs from UK and its free shipping, I'll try to find it.

I believe 2002 accord low beams are h7 and high beams are h1. Not 100% sure on this, check on other sites.

Actually most HID kits come with the hid bulbs and everything else needed for your specific car so you dont have to change anything. And it really only takes maybe 30 mins to install them , it's as simple as changing the light bulbs and doing a little wire work then mounting the ballasts somewhere in the engine bay.
