Just purchased an Aspire One ZG5 brand new in box on clearance for $198 CAD
Using your guide I've added a 1GB Kingston DDR2 667mhz stick of ram and my machine boots without issue.
I'm not sure if it applies to all models or not, but there are two tabs similar to the three you mentioned in your tutorial by the Caps Lock and Return keys on my machine. Popped a key off the keyboard trying to lift it before I discovered those tabs had to be depressed first.
For others using this tutorial, when he says unlock the cable, you pull up on the black part (it lifts like a hinge), and then pull the cable out by using the blue plastic tab. Every notebook keyboard I have seen thus for plugs in this way.
I've also removed Linplus and put on Windows XP w/sp3
all drivers can be found over atCode:http://www.aspireoneuser.com/downloads/

I upgraded to 1.5GB, and switched the 160GB 5400 RPM drive (Toshiba btw) with a 160GB 7200RPM drive I had kicking around. Funny thing, the faster drive actually uses less amperage. Runs nicely now

display data cable
Sorry to bump this old thread, but i need to know if the LCD display cable detaches from the LCD itself. I need to replace the cable, and i want to make sure that i don't need to buy the whole LCD assembly.
Basicly, i need to know if the cable is connected to the LCD permanently or not.
Thanks for you're help.
