ACER AT3220A for PS3, yay or nay?

The aroma of the new plasticy smell of the PS3 permeating through my nostrils as I unwrap it's beautiful plastic is so close I can almost, well, smell it.

I'm still woefully behind in the LCD TV realm, but having long settled on the Acer 32" LCD TV because of it's feature set and price, I was surprised to find they have released another model in this dimension sans the speakers and for under a grand! I think 32" is the largest I'm willing to go; and for the price, it can't be beat, imo.

Anyone heard good or bad reviews on this unit from Acer? One other consideration is the Samsung 27" or 32" but those are for purely aesthetic reasons as neither contain the future proof of HDCP (not that I recall); and I've all but given up on waiting for a 32" with true 1080p HD.

And as with all Acer products, finding any comprehensive reviews on their products are slim picking. I cannot locate one iota of a review for this save a few brief notes left by consumers feedback on retailer websites.

Don't recommend Acer's, as I've heard of a lot of people returning them because of an unexplainable speaker hum.

Acer has a respectable fan base in their LCD display camp, however. Wouldn't you trust them to build a half decent TV? This particular model has no speakers but that's really side stepping the issue; the point is even a company with a rich history in building speakers like Sony, for instance, may have a bad string of luck. They currently have a massive recall on laptop batteries.

Bottom line is, it's a great bang for the buck situation. The Toshibas and LG all hover around $1,500 and Samsung, even higher; and in some cases they all sport the same LCD panel.

Any thoughts from others? Remember this is intended to power the PS3. I've fought the urge of getting the Dell 2407 to pull double duties but I'm not at all confident in their ability to fix that pile of mess.
