Acura's seatbelt warranty
My buckle needs a replacement, and wonder if anyone know how long the warranty last for Acura's seatbelts. Apparently it is life time for the US.
I've tried calling and emailing a local dealer, but no responds yet still....
Car: 2003 Acura 1.7EL Premium with 130k on it.

holy smokes, a 2003 with 13K, that's like less than 2K a year
on a serious note, try calling Acura directly as this is a serious safety issue

Drop by the dealership if you ever drive by or close, you'll get a better responds.
and wow ... 13K in 6 years, how's the condition of the car? mint? (except for the seatbelt problem)

Not so strange, my wife 97 Acura CL has 34,000 on it. Yes it is pristine.

Is your SRS light on? I've googled and someone mentioned that there is lifetime warranty on Acura seatbelt as long as you haven't made any modifications. This answer was for a 2001 Acura 1.7EL. Call your local dealer!

Yes the SRS light is on. I've tried calling them but no one answer.
I'll try again on monday.
I've found info on google about lifetime warranty on seatbelts, but they are all for the US, I hope this applies for Canadians too

Honda/Acura have had a lifetime warranty on seatbelts in Canada and the U.S. ever since high-profile buckle failures on Civics or Accords about 30 years ago.
Just go to any Honda or Acura dealer and I am sure they will jump to put it right quickly.

Honda and Acura do not have lifetime warranty on seatbelts in both Canada and the US. The lifetime warranty is mandadted by law only in the US. In Canada, the warranty I think is either 5 or 3 years. Double check the Acura owners manual to find out.
To the OP, I had the same problem with my 2001 Acura 1.7 EL. I called Honda relations and I spoke to a dealer. After all was said and done, I was told that Honda would not cover the belt buckle under the warranty.
If you would like that to change, I suggest writing to someone in government to force manufacutrers to warranty seatbelts for life.

Just thought that I would add that the belt buckle itself when I had it replaced last year was around $80-90.

I stand corrected -
but Honda and Acura owners in Canada have reported varying success in getting buckle failures covered.
The OP's 2003 EL could come under a different SRS campaign than a 2001 EL.
See the following where a 2002 CL owner was successful:

I've called a local acura dealer (finally got through)
The lady told me the 10 year or 240k warranty for SRS light caused by seatbelt is true, but they have to take a look at the car (scan it + charge me $$) before they can comment on it....

That is excellent news if what the lady said was true!
Some extra information:
There was a recall on the OPDS (Occupant Position Detection System) that caused the SRS light to go on for 2001 1.7 ELs. I am not sure if the recall applies to your 2003 EL but it might. You should ask the dealer about this as well.
Good luck.
